How terribly decent - a box of good, classic, drinkable, everyday claret at a price that won't break the bank. Of course, it includes the ever reliable LEA & SANDEMAN Bordeaux, but also a selection of other clarets that should tickle your tastebuds. Chin chin.

2010 CHÂTEAU LAMOTHE PONTAC Médoc

50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet, from the Médoc gravels. Twenty year-old vines. Aged a year in wood, with 30% new barrels. Supple and rounded, with good brightness of fruit and definition, a true Médoc and a bargain at this price level.

Chateau La Hase is a very well placed property growing predominantly Merlot grapes - and the 2010 is packed with crisp and fresh fruit, with surprisingly deep rich notes – smooth and easy – but by no means is it overly simple.!
