As we prepare for our next round of buying and the arrival of new vintages we are tidying up the cellars and will be bin ending a number of wines throughout the coming weeks, now offered at significantly discounted prices. Even if you have been mad enough to give up drinking in the New Year (so, so bad for you!) you can still pick up a few bargains for when you come back to your senses!

One could say that this Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault blend makes for a devilishly good rosé, but that might be construed as being trite. Pale salmon pink, fresh peach fruit on the nose, and aromatic red fruits on the palate, this is a lovely wine for drinking throughout the summer and especially with grilled and even spicy dishes.

Full bodied Garnacha from Castilla y León softened with the use of American oak. Great value.

2009 PINOT NOIR 'Le Défi' Domaine de la Bastide
IGP Hauterive Languedoc-Roussillon France

A dense Pinot with a silky feel and notes of black cherries and cassis. Really quite surprised us as it does such a good job of melding Pinot freshness and finesse with a bit of Mediterranean muscle. If nitpicking you could say it's a little rustic, but better to be crunchy and fresh than soupy and sweet (we thought) and this is certainly a lot of Pinot for the money.
