2006 PINOT BIANCO Collio Schiopetto

Grapes: Pinot Bianco  Origin: Italy, Friuli Venezia Giulia
Lea & Sandeman review
Rather like biting into a crisp, slightly underripe pear, this is brimming with fresh fruit and acidity. A brilliant wine for grilled fish and lighter meats.

Other reviews and comments
Pale straw-yellow. Lovely floral nose features jasmine and lavender over white peach and green apple. Fresh and minerally in the mouth, with sneaky concentration to its enticing flavors of lemon ice, tangerine and minerals. Finishes leanish, long and clean, with wonderful balance and focus.   90/100

Schiopetto

Mario Schiopetto is recognised as the true father of Friulan oenology, transforming the wines of the region from the once traditionally heavy and alcoholic to the better known fresh and aromatic wines produced today. His was a philosophy of simplicity, technology and sensitivity, all of which is continued by the new generation, Maria Angela, Carlo and Giorgio who today manage the estate. These are Italy's finest white wines.
