2008 CÔTES DU RHÔNE Rouge La Dame Rousse Domaine de la Mordorée

Grapes: Cinsault  Grenache  Syrah  Counoise  Carignan  Origin: France, Rhône
Lea & Sandeman review
Bright and juicy with fabulously crunchy ripe Grenache fruit, soft tannins and warm spice. Quite delicious to drink in its youth but looks like it should evolve well over a year or two.

Other reviews and comments
Sweet berry fruit, pepper, garrigue, and lavender characteristics, fine density, medium body, and more rustic tannins that its 2007 counterpart.

Domaine de la Mordorée

Started in 1986 by the Delorme brothers, Domaine de la Mordoree (woodcock) has become one of the top estates in the Rhone, with arguably the most consistent quality. Christophe Delorme's objective as a winemaker is to be unintrusive and maintain total respect for his terroir and the fruit it produces, striving to achieve a perfect balance between concentration, terroir and balance. The domaine consists of 55 Hectares, on 38 different parcels, providing a rich, wide range of soils and climates. They practice "culture raisonnée", with minimum intervention in the vineyards, and as close as possible organic viticulture.
