Alentejo Portugal
Great value Portuguese white with a freshness and clean expression which belies the very reasonable price point.

2010 ALVARINO Terras d'Alter
Alentejo Portugal
This is 100% Alvarino, and like its Spanish cousins it has a lovely lightness of touch on the palate, a glassy, crystalline clarity in its sliding freshness. Perfect with any kind of fish or seafood, and really great value.

2010 VERDELHO Terras d'Alter
Alentejo Portugal
This Verdelho has notes of passion fruit and a hint of lime, with ripe tropical flavours, but a bright acidity which stops it from being too exotic or 'fruit salad' like. Quite delicious at the price point.

2010 VIOGNIER Terras d'Alter
Alentejo Portugal
Grown in hotter regions Viognier can so easily become too alcoholic and flabbily aromatic, rendering it undrinkable. Grown on austere granite soils and fermented under cool and controlled conditions, this Viognier is a beauty, with notes of apricot, ripe fruits and a bright taut acidity.

2009 TERRA D'ALTER BRANCO RESERVA Terras d'Alter
Alentejo Portugal
Fascinatingly complex dry white with supple body and length from Arinto and Viognier. After three days of skin contact the wine is given a prolonged and cold natural fermentation, 20% of which is done in barrels. The wine is then kept on its lees for six months prior to bottling. White peach and apricot notes with a mouthfilling texture, this has a richness to it but finishes with a refreshing note of pink grapefuit. (IWC Trophy Winner)

2011 ALVARINO Terras d'Alter
Alentejo Portugal
This is 100% Alvarino, and like its Spanish cousins it has a lovely lightness of touch on the palate. With its distinctive smoky nose, aromatic peachy fruit, and a touch of greengage acidity it is marginally richer than the previous vintage, but that only makes it all the more drinkable. Perfect with any kind of fish or seafood, and really great value.
