2009 SAUVIGNON BLANC Reserve Bouchard Finlayson

This 'Reserve' is a single bottling made possible by the excellent quality of this particularly fine vintage. 2009 was characterised by excellent fruit emanating from a rain-free, wonderful long summer where ripening conditions were optimum. The addition of 12% Semillon and some deft French oak treatment - results in a slightly textured and weighty style - whilst retaining wonderful bright sauvignon character.

Single block Chardonnay, aged ten months in a combination of 30% new, and second year French oak. Aromas of lime rind, peach, a little dollop of vanilla cream and good spicy oak. Slightly flinty and faintly grassy. On the palate juicy explosive flavours of citrus, peach, pear and spice with strong crunchy acidity and dry flinty texture. Finishes with spice and zesty citrus flavours.
