Domaine Hubert Lamy
Olivier Lamy, a gifted winemaker, has built on the solid foundations his father Hubert prepared with twenty years and more of work in the vineyards. The reputation of the domaine is now made, but the Saint Aubins, both red and white remain some of the bargains of Côte d'Or, and challenge the supposed superiority of the grander villages on a regular basis, both in terms of young and mature wines.

New wood has been reduced in this vintage to a mere 10%, and since all the wines go into demi-muids (twice the size of the traditional burgundy barrel), this is a very low-key influence in a wine-making style which emphasizes fruit and mineral above all. Like the Frionnes, the Chateniere is tightly drawn, intensely mineral. A very complete wine, which will give its best at four to seven years old.
