Domaine Jean-Marc Boillot
Jean-Marc Boillot left the family domaine to be winemaker to Olivier Leflaive for five years. Then from his maternal grandfather Étienne Sauzet he inherited much of the vineyard of the old Domaine Sauzet, in some of the best vineyards of Puligny, and with this holding and others from his paternal side, he set up his own business. He makes wines that show well young, with complex exotic fruit aromas with the core of minerality, but they age well too. His daughter Lydie and son are now taking a more active role in the domaine, and they have branched out with a thriving négociant business and a property near the Pic Saint Loup in the Languedoc - Domaine des Roques.

Côte d'Or Burgundy France
Very glassy-pale, round and 'flatteur' - easy to approach. Mineral with nice grip in the middle and flowing finish. Lovely village example, still building on the finish and beautifully balanced.
Côte d'Or Burgundy France
A breath of fresh (seaside) air. Mineral and lifted. Bright stony underpinning. A chalk stream flowing over flint pebbles.
Côte d'Or Burgundy France
Nose light as yet, palate therefore surprises with quite an earthy burnt note, a smoky dark flavour which resolves into fresh minerals and an attractive stony brightness which draws out the finish.
Côte d'Or Burgundy France
Balanced, possibly a little restrained for now. There's an underlying intensity, a purity which is lovely. Mineral and streamlined, it will drink well from three year's time
Côte d'Or Burgundy France
Big, smoky, a bit blunt and closed, but amazingly mineral for a Bâtard, more like a denser version of the Combettes. Lots going on, hint of kiwi fruit! Rich and weighty. This comes from the highest part of Bâtard which they say gives the most elegant wines.
