Beautifully focused – light on its toes but so bright, so delicate and delicious. We tasted alongside the DP 2006 and Krug’s Grande Cuvée and it really put them in the shade, they suddenly seemed hefty, broad even cumbersome in comparison. The P2 is elegant, complex and long but all done with such clarity and grace. This is seriously sophisticated champagne and comes highly recommended for all fans of very fine wine. L&S (Mar 2016)

The 1998 Dom Pérignon P2 is open and beautifully expressive today. Unusually open for a young P2, the 1998 drinks well upon release, especially compared to the 1996, which was virtually unapproachable for the first few years after release. That is not at all the case with the 1998, which is quite open at this stage. Hints of apricot, almond, white flowers and chamomile add texture on the fleshy, resonant finish. Champagne Moët & Chandon
Claude Moët founded the famous Champagne House in 1743. Their reputation was secured by his grandson Jean-Rémy Moët who was friendly with and, thus, received the endorsement of Napoleon. Jean-Rémy handed the business on to his son Victor Moët and son-in-law Pierre-Gabriel Chandon de Briailles and Moët et Cie became Moët & Chandon. The first vintage of Dom Perignon was the 1921, released in 1936, and it was the first De-Luxe cuvée on the market. Quite dramatic post-War expansion turned Moët & Chandon into the drinks and luxury goods company LVMH.
