1999 CHÂTEAU LYNCH BAGES 5ème Cru Classé Pauillac
| Grapes: Cabernet Franc Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot | Origin: France, Bordeaux |
Lea & Sandeman review
Deep staining colour, fully saturated. Sweet, plummy blackberry fruit mixed with smoke and burnt flavours from high-toast oak - the fruit carries the finish, with a rich sponge-cake and ripe jammy finish. Fat and sweet, it remains crisp.Other reviews and comments
This has never been a very serious Lynch. Shows some berry and tobacco character, with a medium body, fine tannins and a fruity finish. Simple.

This dense ruby/purple-colored 1999 is a modern day clone of this estate's wonderful 1962. The 1999 reveals forward, open-knit notes of creme de cassis and earth. It is fleshy, medium to full-bodied, and succulent, with supple tannin, excellent balance, as well as a long, pure, ripe finish. This seductive effort will drink well for 12-15 years, possibly longer.
