10% Cabernet Franc with Cabernet Sauvignon (55%) and Merlot (35%). This is a big wine with very deep ruby colour. The Merlot is sweet and juicy on the attack, the Cabernet following through with muscle and structure, and the Cabernet Franc giving a new level of elegance and length to this wine. This shows beautiful vanilla, violet and berry character on the nose. Medium to full-bodied, with well integrated tannins and a subtly complex finish. Fine wine. Very well done for the vintage. Rita Tua's estate in Suvereto has undergone a number of changes in the past three years. The extraordinary potential of this micro region and the huge demand for wines from this tiny estate has led to extensive new plantings and a complete new winery, so that what was originally only four hectares has been extended to thirty. However, the combination of high Parker scores in recent vintages and the limited production has led to some extraordinarily high prices appearing for these wines on the brokers lists.
