Lea & Sandeman review
Typically rich and full bodied in classic Barossa style, with dark chocolate and blackberry fruit and yet fresh and savoury on the palate, making it very drinkable.Other reviews and comments
The 2005 Trial Hill Shiraz is opaque purple-colored. The nose presents toast, melted tar, smoked meat, blueberry, and licorice. Surprisingly light on its feet for a wine of its size, the wine has serious depth and concentration, excellent balance, and enough structure to improve with 2-3 more years in the cellar. Drink it through 2022

Deep colour. Intense fresh dark chocolate/ violet/ plum/ pane forte aromas. Rich and dense wine with lovely dark chocolate/ blackberry pastille flavours, savoury cedar/ spicy oak and brambly dry chocolaty tannins. Finishes long, sweet, and chalky dry.

Has great density and depth without any jammy, overripe characters; delicious blackberry, licorice, spice and plum fruit; perfectly weighted tannins and oak.
