Nicely mature, with a very appetising sweet brambly/hedgerow fruit aromas and a mellow medium-bodied feel with a classic balancing dryness. Lovely now. Bravo to Cornishman Mark Hellyar! L&S (Sept 2015)

The 2006 is nicely meaty and supple and has perfumy, sweet fruit, subtly toasty oak and a convincing, earthy-mineral undertow. It’s half Merlot and 25% each Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon. .... All in all, a very good, modern but authentic Bordeaux.Joanna Simon, www.joannasimon.com (Sept 2015)
Mark Hellyar is a surf-loving Cornishman who bought a rundown estate in an unfashionable part of Bordeaux. His wines are as good as the story and the 06 is drinking wonderfully; dark berries and smoke are underpinned by a vein of tannin. This is a modern claret, ideal for traditional roast beef.
