Good bright, dark red. Sexy aromas of black fruits, spicy oak, violet and licorice. Juicy and vibrant, with impressive energy and definition to the flavors of blackberry, violet and spice. Finishes spicy and long, with firm, building tannins. At the village level the stems were riper in 2006 than in 2007, noted Dugat, who vinified with a higher percentage of the stems in '06. 91 Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (Aug 2012)

Domaine Dugat-Py, along with only DRC, Roumier, Rousseau and Leroy, is rated in the top Three Star category by the 'Classement' published by the Revue du Vin de France. These are the essence of robust Burgundy, wines of huge scale and concentration. Patience is required, so lay down a few grand bottles for your dotage.
