Sagrantino di Montefalco 25 Anni is the result of in-depth research and careful clonal selection of the best grapes of Sagrantino. A jubilee wine produced for the first time in 1993 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the winery. It has kept this name along with its unique character, power and elegance. Wine Specator named it "Superb Sagrantino". The colour is deep, ruby red, almost black, which turns into garnet with the ageing of the wine.Winemaker's notes (Feb 2013)

Another whopper from Caprai that is dense and serious. And needs time. Even now though, it's brimming with dark chocolate, dried fruits and balsamic notes. Arnaldo-Caprai
The Caprai winery and vineyards lie on the hillside below the Umbrian hilltop town of Montefalco. Founded in 1971 by Arnaldo-Caprai Caprai, and now in the hands of his son Marco, the estate has become the leading producer of Sagrantino wines in the region. Sagrantino shows no resemblance to any of Italy's other grape varieties, and is almost exclusive to the region of Montefalco - it is thick-skinned, small bunched and small-berried, but big in every other way: colour, tannins, acids, extracts, and sugars.
