Lea & Sandeman review
Nicolas remarked that this year the best bit of this was the youngest vines. Rich and powerful with a good liveliness, and quite a distinct tannic structure. Since Santenots usually yields a wine with a fair amount of concentration, it is one of the few where he added no whole bunches.Other reviews and comments
Broader and more generous in character. The structure conveys a feeling of opulence. The strike is rich and mouthfilling, the tannic grip is svelte and the freshness comes through on the finish. It feels more hedonistic. Fine+. From 2011
Sarah Marsh MW, The Burgundy Briefing
A moderately elegant nose of primarily red berry fruit aromas that also display subtle notes of earth and spice introduce round, supple and forward medium-bodied flavors that tighten up quickly on the admirably persistent finish that stops just short of being a bit tough at the moment. Unlike the Beaune which is distinctly chewy, here the tannins are more refined but still, this doesn't lack for extraction or muscle and should age well, and will need it. 2013+
