The 2007 Albarella is still shrouded with a coat of tannin that for the moment overshadows the intense fruit of this rich, powerful wine. Another year or two in bottle and this will be stunning.

The 2007 Barolo Albarella is a dark, sumptuous beauty bursting with wild cherries, plums, tobacco, cedar, spices and licorice. The 2007 is a surprisingly rich, powerful Albarella that impresses for its superb depth and fabulous overall balance. This is the best Barolo Oberto has made from this vineyard, located in the village of Barolo. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2027.   93/100
