Maffini's top red wine is made from low yielding Aglianico from a single block of older vines. The wine is aged for eighteen months in barrels, of which fifty-five percent are new, and the kept in bottle eighteen months before release. The result is a much more complex, spicy, more tannic and tighter style but with fantastic persistence and length - the signs of a great wines for ageing a few more years. Stunning.
