Lea & Sandeman review
75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc, 15% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot. Cool weight of black, fresh, sexy suave fruit. Classical and rich, with impressive weight and power. Graphite minerals and sumptuous cassis. Seriously attractive, very long and one of the hits of the year. 92-93/100Other reviews and comments
Full ruby-red. Aromas of cassis, blackberry, licorice and minerals. Juicy and tightly wound but essentially pliant, with smooth black fruit and licorice flavors complicated by leather and fresh herbs. Classically dry and very Pauillac. Finishes with supple but firm tannins.

Berry and currant on the nose and palate, with medium body, fine tannins and a slightly dilute finish.

Deep, quite coffeed and charry nose of svelte black fruit and just a hint of something herbal and cedary. On the palate this has a lovely balance of juicy freshness with crisp tannins, and a hint of weight and chocolate.

Deep purple-red, good depth of blackcurrant Cabernet fruit, finely expressed fruit on palate, discreet (for Lynch-Bages) yet all in a piece, good length, nicely ripe tannins, good balance. Drink 2012-20.

Heady nose with lots of opulent ripe black fruit flavours and velvety texture but no real grip. Not really very fresh. A bit tired. (I wonder whether this was a sample problem?) Very drying tannins. Julia, tasting the same sample, found less flesh on the palate than the nose suggested. 2012-17

This has good concentration on the nose with blackberry, cedar, vanilla and raspberry. Good lift and definition. Medium-bodied, excellent fruit concentration and a real brightness to it. No signs of any greenness, very fine tannins, this is a more feminine Lynch Bages with great focus and deftness of touch. Pure blackberry, cedar and blueberry finish. Good length. Excellent Lynch-Bages that could merit a higher score after bottling.
