2007 CORTON RENARDES Grand Cru Thibault Liger-Belair
2007 CORTON RENARDES Grand Cru Thibault Liger-Belair
| Grapes: Pinot Noir | Origin: France, Burgundy |
Lea & Sandeman review
Compared to the lush richness of the Rognets, this is more compact and unshowy, but then has more energy and drive. Powerfully long.Other reviews and comments
Medium red. High-toned exotic fruits, smoked meat, mocha and game on the liqueur-like nose. At once suave and firm, with terrific complexity to its spicy dark fruit flavors. This is 14% natural alcohol but does not come off as warm or heavy. On the contrary, it's a chewy, crunchy wine with a serious backbone for aging. If Rognet should be premier cru, as Liger-Belair suggests, this has real grand cru depth.

Here the nose is much more animale in character with fresh wild red raspberry and pinot fruit aromas that are also notably earthy in character that are followed by rich, round, serious and solidly constructed full-bodied flavors that possess significantly better depth and length. This is very primary and will need time to harmonize. 2015+

Serious though not flashy. Very sweet with lots of pleasure. Rather rich, alcoholic finish.
