Deep colour again. Ripe and sweetly generous. More flesh and charm here, really supple on the palate, juicy, and generous basket of red fruit. L&S (Dec 2008)

Utterly gorgeous flowing Pinot Noir from Boillot, so seductive in its settled and silky red fruit and perfume, quite voluminous in the mouth, but presented with verve, dash and length. Will keep for some years yet. Rating: 93 The Wine Gang - www.thewinegang.com (Jan 2014)

The 2007 is wonderfully fragrant with sweet herb, tobacco leaf, black fruit and exotic spice on the nose and a concentration of opulent, yet focused fruit and fine tannins on the palate. Very long and has a long life ahead. Rating: 93 The Wine Gang - www.thewinegang.com (Jan 2014)

Once again, the nose evidences very mild reduction with slightly higher toned red berry fruit aromas nuanced by obvious earth nuances that continue onto the lacy, pure and delicate middle weight flavors that possess good mid-palate fat and a subtle touch of finishing minerality. I very much like the mouth feel and this is a classic Volnay in style and character. Again, I strongly suggest decanting this for 20 to 30 minutes first. 2013+ Rating: 91 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (May 2009)

Domaine Henri Boillot

A domaine which dates to 1885, but which began properly in the early years of the 20th century under the current Henri's grandfather (also Henri). His son, Jean, was the one who really developed it. Henri arrived in 1975 and worked his way up, becoming the winemaker. In 2000 he began the building of the new winery at the bottom of Meursault, and he then bought out his brother and sister to keep the domaine as one, renaming it from 'Domaine Jean Boillot' to 'Domaine Henri Boillot' to avoid confusion with his brother Jean-Marc's domaine.

The Domaine totals around 14 hectares, with roughly equal surfaces of red and white, and of which just under 4ha is the Monopole vineyard of Clos de la Mouchère, a walled enclave within the premier Cru Puligny Perrières. The 2017 vintage saw the arrival of two new parcels of Grand Cru red, in Échezeaux and Latricières Chambertin
