Like the 2009 and 2010 which got so much publicity as primeur wines, 2008 Capbern Gasqueton betrays its affiliation with Calon Ségur in its purity and subtle dry Cabernet fruit. This has opened up brilliantly, drinking brilliantly now and for another 3 or 4 years or so. Classic Saint Estèphe, flavours delivered with delicacy and panache. Rating: 92 L&S (Sept 2012)
