This is above the Clos de Tart. Immediate class, a very mineral wine as befits one from a vineyard planted on rock. Youngest vines are 38 years old. Expressive, extrovert, brilliant definition. L&S (Jul 2010)

Perrot-Minot’s 2008 Morey-St.-Denis En la Rue de Vergy Vieilles Vignes smells alluringly of nutmeg, blond tobacco, mocha, blackberry, and cassis, along with a Morey-typical intimation of herbal concentrate that becomes more pronounced – and slightly bitter – on the palate. There is a welcome hint of primary juiciness in the finish, though not the textural polish of the marginally less complex village Gevrey. Follow it for at least 6-8 years. (June 2010) Rating: 88 David Schildknecht, The Wine Advocate (Sept 2010)

A reduced nose renders it hard to evaluate but the fresh, pure and round flavors brim with an intense minerality and plenty of vibrancy on the delicious, racy and persistent finish. This is really quite pretty though it lacks the depth necessary to be at the next level, at least at this point. Rating: 86-88 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jul 2010)

Domaine Christophe Perrot-Minot

Christophe Perrot-Minot is now the fourth generation of his family producing wine on the estate after his great grandfather Amédée Merme devoted himself to the management and production of wine over 130 years ago. The estate has gone from strength to strength – always keeping the highest standards. Integrated viticulture has been practiced for many years now which has been adapted especially for the terroir. No herbicide or chemical fertilizer is used, instead, Christophe prefers to “stand back and listen to this terroir, only intervening when necessary or when the weather requires it, never systematically.” This is one of the star domaines of the whole of Burgundy.
