2008 BLACK ESTATE Pinot Noir

2008 BLACK ESTATE Pinot Noir

Grapes: Pinot Noir  Origin: New Zealand, South Island
Lea & Sandeman review
A very fine Pinot with lovely tight structure not unlike one of Francois Lumpp's Premier Cru Givrys but with a hint of New World ripe fruit. Fermented using wild yeasts and left on the skins for almost a month prior to pressing and tranferring to barrel.

Other reviews and comments
New Zealand's serious pinot noir class is ubiquitous with South Island's Canterbury one of the most impressive new spots, judging by the fine, bright, cherry-spicy 2009 Waipara Black Estate Pinot Noir. Anthony Rose, The Independent
Richly textured wine with impressive flavor depth. Layers of dark fruits with some spice and nutty oak. A very classy Pinot Noir - seamless and long. ***** Bob Campbell MW - BobsWineReviews.com
