Tweet by William Lyons‏@Will_Lyons (of the Wall Street Journal: "Red Wine Recommendation: Domaine de la Mordorée 'La Reine des Bois' 2008 Lirac, Rhône, France just under £20 a bt @CharlesALea Sensational!"

An equal blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre from forty year old vines, aged in a combination of oak barrels, wooden tuns and stainless steel this is Christophe Delorme's super cuvée of Lirac which is vastly superior to any other in the appellation. Red/black in colour with a massive fruit structure and rich tannins, nevertheless beautifully balanced and with a great future.

Other reviews and comments
The 2008 Lirac Cuvee de la Reine des Bois is a very strong effort in this challenging vintage. Composed of equal parts Grenache, Mourvedre and Syrah (from 40-year-old vines), it exhibits surprising density for the vintage along with abundant red and black fruit, licorice, truffle and loamy soil notes. Full-bodied with admirable fruit purity and a long, heady finish, it is best drunk over the next 3-4 years. 89/100 Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate
