Vineyard Les Échanges

Les Échanges faces les Beaux Bruns. Oaky nose gives way to a surprisingly full and weighty attack. Then the microscopic detail starts, the wine seeming to have a flavour for every taste receptor. Slaty, supple ripe fruit overlay, but it is the ground you feel. Great purity. Grand Vin. L&S (Nov 2010)

A discreet application of wood frames the fresh nose of upper and lower register red currant, cassis and violet aromas. The middle weight flavors offer lovely richness and mouth coating sap as well as a seductively textured and mineral-inflected finish that is dusty, firm, balanced and long. This is very Chambolle in character as there is finesse and minerality. 2017+ Rating: 89-92 Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com (Jan 2011)

Full ruby-red. Cassis, blackberry, menthol and licorice on the nose; reminded me of a new-style Saint-Emilion. Then juicy, saline and less sweet than the last couple of samples; conveys a light touch but still rather clenched today. Here the mineral-driven tannins come across as tough and in need of serious patience. Very closed wine. Rating: 89-91 Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (Jan 2011)

Domaine Christophe Perrot-Minot

Christophe Perrot-Minot is now the fourth generation of his family producing wine on the estate after his great grandfather Amédée Merme devoted himself to the management and production of wine over 130 years ago. The estate has gone from strength to strength – always keeping the highest standards. Integrated viticulture has been practiced for many years now which has been adapted especially for the terroir. No herbicide or chemical fertilizer is used, instead, Christophe prefers to “stand back and listen to this terroir, only intervening when necessary or when the weather requires it, never systematically.” This is one of the star domaines of the whole of Burgundy.
