Grapes: Chardonnay  Origin: France, Burgundy
Lea & Sandeman review
Very good as ever; easy flow, lovely concentration of citrus and spiced green fruit.

Other reviews and comments
This has a lifted, primal bouquet with white flowers and a touch of linden leaf. The palate is well balanced with a soft entry, low acidity and a caressing, almost creamy finish. Fine.   86

Sweet glossy fruit, pure vibrant and lively. It is bright and lemony with good minerality on the finish. Well executed Bourgogne. Certainly attractive. From 2011.
Sarah Marsh MW, The Burgundy Briefing
A pungent nose of straw, citrus peel and soft floral notes gives way to nicely round, rich and easy-to-like flavors that possess just enough complexity to be interesting on the dry and clean finish.
Allen Meadows, www.Burghound.com
The 2009 Bourgogne floats across the palate with subtle layers of sweet, perfumed fruit. It is an extraordinarily refined, polished wine at this level. A clean, exquisite finish rounds out this gorgeous wine. The Bourgogne is a blend of six parcels, all on the periphery of Meursault. Anticipated maturity: 2012+.   88
Antonio Galloni, The Wine Advocate
Fine spicy mineral nose, pears. Very ripe and juicy, a touch soft but has good concentration for Bourgogne, and a fresh lively finish. Drink 2011-2015. (GOOD VALUE CHOICE)   ****16.5 points

simply BOURGOGNE

Simple "Bourgogne" Blanc or Rouge is, theoretically at least, the most basic of Burgundy's hierarchy of appellations, but that's not to say it should be overlooked. Whilst the words "Premier Cru" and "Grand Cru" may stir the imagination, and villages like Gevrey Chambertin, Vosne-Romanée and Puligny Montrachet may look familiar and inviting, they don't come cheap and may prove too extravagent for more than occasional drinking. A simple Bourgogne allows you to dip into a cheeky little Burgundy without breaking the bank. Any vigneron worth investigating will put in as much care with his "basic" wine as he will with his grandest Grand Cru. You can see the House style in a Bourgogne Rouge or Blanc, you can see clues as to how the more expensive "special occasion" wines are going to taste. It's a wonderful world, so often overlooked by those in search of familiar names. And, whilst no Burgundy can be said to be cheap these days, it's a wonderful world that is still open to those of us of less inflated means.
