2009 CHIANTI CLASSICO Poggerino
2009 CHIANTI CLASSICO Poggerino
| Grapes: Sangiovese | Origin: Italy, Tuscany |
Lea & Sandeman review
One hundred percent Sangiovese, and aged only in used oak barrels, this has all the usual hallmarks of Poggerino, with rich concentration of fruit, pronounced minerality, and very precise flavours which give extraordinary length. This is a wine built both for the medium term and most definitely for drinking with a fat, juicy, grilled steak.Other reviews and comments
Radda in Chianti. 100% Sangiovese. Mid ruby with broader rim. Savoury, almost minerally core with hints of dried cherry. Very fine and elegant and grippy at the same time. (WS)

A good honest Chianti Classico from a certified organic and biodynamic producer. Bright and honest with fresh and juicy cherry characters both on the nose and the palate.

"Superbly textured and full bodied Aglianico. This vintage has been given a shorter period of skin contact and a relatively short period in used oak barrels so as to preserve all of its juicy and crunchy fruit. The tannins are ripe and very fine giving it great length and making it a very exciting wine for drinking with food. "
