2009 LE G DE GUIRAUD Bordeaux Blanc Château Guiraud
2009 LE G DE GUIRAUD Bordeaux Blanc Château Guiraud
| Grapes: Sauvignon Blanc Sémillon | Origin: France, Bordeaux |
Lea & Sandeman review
The dry white wine of Chateau Guiraud in Sauternes and fabulously good in this vintage. 70% Semillon, and 30% Sauvignon. First tasted as a barrel-sample, it had a still very youthful spiky nettliness on the nose, but the palate is already sophisticated - complex and interesting, rocky minerals, cool classicism with earthy spice, very long and controlled and fresh.Other reviews and comments
Sauvignon 30%, Sémillon 70%. Big and heady and quite blustering. A food wine wth a light oiliness – very Sémillon. The spectre of Sauternes hangs heavy over this. Stirs my curiosity to taste Ygrec in its new formulation...? Not a silly price considering its pedigree.
