Although Nicolas' Lavieres was good this year, this Fourneaux completely overshadows it. Much more sap and personality, much more serious - and he treats it accordingly, with 40% new wood. Rich, straight, long.

Moderate wood frames an expressive nose of ripe aromas of dark berry fruit, violets and plenty of Savigny-style earth that is in keeping with the relatively fine medium-bodied flavors that possess a supple and round mouth feel, all wrapped in a very firm and lingering finish. A lovely Savigny. 2019+   89-92/100
