Lea & Sandeman review
From Chacra's six hectare 1955 vineyard, vinified in whole bunches and given less than 20% new oak, this is so beautifully textured (in the same vein as Thibault Liger-Belair's wines) with rich berry fruit, it is still reserved at first but then builds to a wonderful crescendo on the finish.Other reviews and comments
So fragrant it's almost disarming - roses, raspberries and delicate smoked bacon – and then a fine-boned palate of pure, intense sweet fruit, the finest of filigree tannins and a butter-smooth texture. And all this at 11.5% alcohol. The 55 of the name is the date when the vineyard was planted and the man behind the creation of today's estate, Bodega Chacra, is Piero Incisa della Rochetta of Sassicaia.

Bright medium red. High-pitched, delicate aromas of red fruits, flowers, blood orange, pepper, fresh herbs and spicy underbrush. The strawberry, cherry and cinnamon flavors show very good spicy cut but come across as quite tight today. Sleek, dry, delicate and lean. Finishes with substantial dusty tannins and lingering, savory notes of dark fruits, spices and leather. Offers lovely precision but little in the way of flesh or easy sweetness.
