2010 MENCIA Ribeiro Bodegas Docampo
| Grapes: Mencia | Origin: Spain, Ribeiro |
Lea & Sandeman review
Traditionally the indigenous Mencia grape produces wines which are light and fragrant, not unlike a Beaujolais or Pinot Noir, and best drunk in the region. This is a lovely example, beautifully made, wonderfully fresh and very, very drinkable with a touch more depth than previous vintages.| Purchasing options | |||||||

a taste of GALICIA
Galicia is the bit of Spain that sticks out over the top of Portugal (but, of course, you knew that). Here the wines are very different to the rest of Spain, the whites are bright crisp aromatic affairs that accompany well the local sea-food based diet, whilst the less-known reds are at the fruitier, fresher end of things. Rioja they, certainly, are not. It was Albariño that put the region on the map internationally, but there is so much more to know. Here's a taste of Galicia, a selection that will charm and refresh, and have you yearning for more.
SPANISH REDS
Spain presents a marvelous myriad of styles and flavours to tease the palate with. Take a tour around the Iberian Peninsular, marvel at the flavours, marvel at the variety, marvel at the quality, marvel at the value.
Valpolicella Veneto Italy
"One of the better Valpolicella we have come across, having listed the Amarone from the same producer for a couple of vintages. Light, crisp, with rounded fruit, a not unattractive edge of green pepperiness giving a very good finish to what can so often be such a dull wine. This is very drinkable indeed."
