Lea & Sandeman review
François' old vines cuvée is, as usual, fully ripe, an atttactive sweet edge on the wine with enough body and plenty of juicy, fleshy fruit.Other reviews and comments
3 parcels all 60+ years old, aged in oak, part new. Bottled a week ago but doesn't seem to have closed down. Pure dark fruit. Really savoury and fresh on the palate. Great tension, quite linear at the moment. Sinewy but not lean. 2012-2015

The reds from this Côte Chalonnaise appellation can be a bit earthy, but this old-vine wine, like Raquillet's basic (in fact not so basic) Bourgogne Pinot Noir, has a savoury, nutty quality rather than earthiness. There's also lovely, raspberry sweetness, hints of spice and sandalwood and, as you would expect, more concentration, tannin and structure than in the the basic Bourgogne.
