Almost meaty-savoury on very first nose. Then purity and rock, minerals. Very firm and straight. A real sense of limestone in the mid-palate. Less lush than the Pucelles. But its got the directed straightness. Lovely. L&S (Dec 2012)

The Puligny-Montrachet Clos de la Mouchère remains energetic, vibrant and utterly impeccable. Lemon oil, hazelnut and spice notes emerge in a Burgundy full of 2011 softness and generosity. This is a great showing from a wine that is likely to enjoy a long and broad drinking window. Rating: 94 Antonio Galloni, www.vinous.com (Nov 2013)

Good full yellow-straw color. Musky ripe peach, crushed stone and a whiff of truffle on the rather saline nose. Rich and seamless, with lovely generosity of texture to the flavors of ripe peach and salted butter. Not particularly high-pitched but has sound acidity for all its fat. Best today on the tactile, rising, very long finish. Rating: 93 Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar (Sept 2013)

This is a fabulous, intense, smoky and nutty wine all at the same time, with powerfully ripe, lees-derived underlying complexity behind a touch of toasty oak and gorgeously long and complex fruit and a mineral dry finish. Rating: 94 The Wine Gang - www.thewinegang.com (Feb 2013)

Domaine Henri Boillot

A domaine which dates to 1885, but which began properly in the early years of the 20th century under the current Henri's grandfather (also Henri). His son, Jean, was the one who really developed it. Henri arrived in 1975 and worked his way up, becoming the winemaker. In 2000 he began the building of the new winery at the bottom of Meursault, and he then bought out his brother and sister to keep the domaine as one, renaming it from 'Domaine Jean Boillot' to 'Domaine Henri Boillot' to avoid confusion with his brother Jean-Marc's domaine.

The Domaine totals around 14 hectares, with roughly equal surfaces of red and white, and of which just under 4ha is the Monopole vineyard of Clos de la Mouchère, a walled enclave within the premier Cru Puligny Perrières. The 2017 vintage saw the arrival of two new parcels of Grand Cru red, in Échezeaux and Latricières Chambertin
