2011 VIOGNIER Terras d'Alter

2011 VIOGNIER Terras d'Alter
| Grapes: Viognier | Origin: Portugal, Alentejo |
Lea & Sandeman review
Grown in hotter regions Viognier can so easily become too alcoholic and flabbily aromatic, rendering it undrinkable. Grown on austere granite soils and fermented under cool and controlled conditions, this Viognier is a beauty, with notes of apricot, ripe fruits and a bright taut acidity.Other reviews and comments
Planted 2007. Second commercial harvest. Peachy and some green fig and apricot and passion fruit. Orange notes. Lots of layers. Peachy orange. 'Acidity I can arrange. Flavour I can't', says Bright. Full and flavourful. 2011 more mineral. Exuberant fruit.
