Bright green-gold. Very rich:- opulent balance, tropical fruit, fat, really mouthfilling richness. Pure and very long, lots of power and class here.

Outstanding lift to the aromas of lime and crushed stone. Silky, smooth and magically light on its feet, displaying outstanding energy and cut to its lemon, lime and spicy oak flavors. This tastes like it's from another vintage than the Combettes. The bracing, extremely long finish hints at huge dry extract without coming across as phenolic or dry. The crop level here was just 25 hectoliters per hectare, according to Boillot.

The 2012 Puligny-Montrachet Clos de la Mouchere is one of the brighter, more focused Pulignys in the cellar. Lemon, flowers, white stone fruits and pears all meld together in a beautiful, focused wine endowed with gorgeous energy. I very much like the brilliance of the Clos de la Mouchère in this vintage. This is one of the highlights among Henri Boillot's 2012 whites. 2014+

Bright medium yellow. White peach, flint, clove and musky pepper on the complex nose. Hugely rich and supple, with saline minerality accentuating the impression of density. Has the texture of a solid and finishes with outstanding spicy lift and length. Classy juice for all its size.

(from 60+ year old vines and the vineyard is a whopping 4ha monopole within Perrieres). The nose is markedly reduced and I would strongly suggest decanting this if you're tempted to try a bottle young. The intensely mineral-driven middle weight plus flavors possess outstanding mid-palate concentration with an abundance of palate coating dry extract, all wrapped in a wonderfully vibrant and highly persistant finish. I very much like the balance as this is a big yet stylish effort that should amply repay medium-term cellaring. 2019+

Domaine Henri Boillot: Full Wine List and Profile
A top producer for red and white alike. Henri and his son Guillaume have now moved all the vinification and élevage out of Volnay entirely in order to have all the wine in one place (down on the plain in Meursault). Not so 'folklorique', but a better tool to reach even higher quality levels. After six years working alongside Henri, Guillaume has been entirely responsible for the vinification of the reds since 2013 - Henri's contribution is henceforth entirely on the whites, but one senses this is really Guillaume's show now. Guillaume's major input on the reds was to end the practice of autmatically de-stemming everything - there is now some use of whole bunches and the wines have gained in definition and energy as a result, without losing the luxurious velvety richness and fruit depth that they have always had.
