ANIMA UMBRA BIANCO

2012 Arnaldo-Caprai

Grapes Grechetto, Trebbiano
Colour White
Origin Italy, Umbria
ABV 12.5%

This blend of Grechetto and Trebbiano releases aromas of yellow peach with a slight note of minerality. Dry and fresh with a pleasant almond finish on the palate. Delicious on its own, but a perfect accompaniment to fish and white meat. Winemaker's notes (Sept 2014)

Arnaldo-Caprai

The Caprai winery and vineyards lie on the hillside below the Umbrian hilltop town of Montefalco. Founded in 1971 by Arnaldo-Caprai Caprai, and now in the hands of his son Marco, the estate has become the leading producer of Sagrantino wines in the region. Sagrantino shows no resemblance to any of Italy's other grape varieties, and is almost exclusive to the region of Montefalco - it is thick-skinned, small bunched and small-berried, but big in every other way: colour, tannins, acids, extracts, and sugars.
