Patrizia Felluga's fabulous blend of Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Pinot Grigio and Friulano is exceptional in this vintage. Pale in colour with bright flavours and lovely texture this encapsulates the very best of Collio, and as such is one of Italy's great white wines. L&S (Jan 2013)

A blend of Friulano, Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio (in stainless steel), the 2012 Collio Bianco Vigne opens to a very perfumed bouquet with plenty of exotic fruit, white peach, fragrant melon and orange blossom. Friuli in NE Italy is a haven for delicious and original white wines, like this, one of my favourties right now and well worth the extra money. It’s a blend of a local grape Friulano with Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Grigio. It’s bold and juicy with layer upon layer of peach, then lemon, then lime. Although it’s as fresh as a mountain stream it has guts and attitude to its flavour, plus a distinct identity, and that’s my kind of white wine. rated 'Best Buy' - Patrizia Felluga and her family produce two wines from their vineyard in San Floriano, an oak-aged riserva and this stainless-steel fermented white. I prefer the freshness of this wine's citrus flavours, ranging from lime and lemon to orange-blossom honey. It's almost spherical in its richness. For a fish stew. Zuani

Just over 12 years ago Patrizia Felluga left the family business in order to buy her own property in the heart of the Collio and set about her ambition of making a 'terroir' based wine. Working now with her two children, Antonio and Caterina - she is creating beautiful, crystaline wines with great character. Her seven hectares are planted with fifteen to forty year old Friulano, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay and Sauvignon vines, from which she produces just two wines, each the same blend, one of which is oaked. Each variety is vinified separately in stainless steel and blended to make wines which are wonderfully expressive of the vineyard.
