With 22 vintages under his belt in the Old World and the New, David Clouston has returned home to make wine on the hillside vineyards of Marlborough. With attractive aromas of raspberry and cherry and a twist of black pepper, this graceful wine shows a lovely concentration and freshness of fruit. Fermented using 20 per cent whole bunch clusters, there is good structure and weight here. (Top wines from the L&S Tasting) Rating: 17.25 Decanter Magazine (Sept 2015)

This is a skilfully-crafted Pinot Noir from the hillsides of Marlborough by David Clouston. The attractive raspberryish fragrance draws you into a glassful of silky-textured, hugely drinkable, bright raspberry and cherry fruitiness, with delicate, smoky oak, herb-edged borders and a savoury fresh finish. Rating: 90 The Wine Gang - www.thewinegang.com (Feb 2015)

Pale to medium ruby-purple in color and showing off a nose of kirsch, red currant jelly and Provence herbs with a touch of Sichuan pepper, the medium-bodied 2013 Two Rivers Tributary Pinot Noir has a good concentration of red berry freshness plus herbal streaks lending lift through the medium to long, chewy finish.Lisa Perrotti-Brown, RobertParker.com (Dec 2014)

Two Rivers of Marlborough

David Clouston is originally from Marlborough, and after 22 vintages abroad from Oregon to Chile, Corsica to Alsace, he returned home and set about exploring the valleys and diverse terroirs of Marlborough. The main production is the Sauvignon made from fruit from both the Awatere and Wairau river valleys, whence the 'Two Rivers of Marlborough' name, but his hillside Pinot Noir is showing great potential.
