A blend of 85% Pinot Noir and 15% Chardonnay, the NV Brut Rosé Authentique is the best wine in this in this range, once again. Ample and resonant, with terrific persistence, the Authentique is immediately captivating. The NV Brut Rosé Authentique is a very pretty, delicate wine. Crushed red berry fruit, orange peel, spice, mint and rose petals seem to hover across the palate. Understated and yet wonderfully deep, the Rosé is a fine choice for drinking either alone or at the dinner table. I find the balance simply exquisite. The NV Brut Authentique Rosé Vin de Gastronomie is dynamic and vibrant in the glass, with a real feeling of energy that lifts the flavors. Freshly cut flowers, sweet red berry fruit, chalk, mint and blood orange all grace this super-expressive, inviting Rosé from Barnaut. Very bright ruby color. A distinctly fresh nose offers up notes of yeast, red berry fruit, quinine and an interesting hint of cassis. The firm if not especially refined mousse supporting the nicely detailed and energetic flavors that terminate in an agreeably dry, crisp and bitter cherry-inflected finish. This is lovely because unlike so many examples of rosé, the finish is crisp and dry rather than mildly sweet and cloying. To enjoy now and over the next few years. Disgorged in July 2017, the latest rendition of the NV Brut Rosé Grand Cru unfurls in the glass with aromas of smoky blood orange, rose petals and raspberries. On the palate, it's full-bodied, broad and vinous, with a pinpoint mousse, ripe acids and a deep, fleshy core of fruit. This is a gourmand, characterful wine that will work well at the table. The NV Brut Authentique Rosé is the most complete and satisfying of the three wines I tasted. Powerful and ample in the glass, the Rosé is wonderfully fleshy, and yet all nothing is out of place. Relatively deeply colored in the context of the genre. The nose is mildly fruity yet there is ample yeast and despite the overt fruitiness the aromas are by no means simple or one-dimensional. Consistent with the color there is good richness, volume and mid-palate density to the delicious and rather round flavors that are shaped by a medium firm mousse, all wrapped in an off-dry finish that possesses solid if not better depth. Overall I liked this just fine but if I'm being hyper-critical, I would prefer a slightly drier and crisper finish; that said this is well-made and satisfying in its fashion. Chewy and focused on the palate, offering bitter orange pith and red berry skin flavors that gain sweetness with air. At once ample and lively, finishing with very good cut and lingering toastiness.
