The NV Brut Reserve is a tasty, non-vintage Champagne. Orchard fruit, lime, white flowers and white pepper. Silky, creamy and exceptionally polished, the Brut Reserve is a total charmer. All the elements are so well balanced. This release is based on 2019. Dosage is 6.10 grams per liter. Disgorged: 4th quarter 2022. 40% Pinot Meunier, 30% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay. The 2018 base Brut Reserve is showing plenty of character from the complex reserve wine system, heightening what is still a fairly youthful base. There's richness from roasted apples and smoky honey, freshness from raspberry and clean, integrated acidity. Some toffee and brazil nut richness, too. Founded by Nicolas-Francois Billecart in 1818, and situated in the village of Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, this remains one of the few family owned businesses in Champagne. the family has 100% control of production. They obtain their grapes from an area covering 220 hectares, the majority of which come from in and around the region of Épernay, and own a total of 15 hectares themselves. Today the estate is run by François and Antoine Roland-Billecart, the 6th generation of the family to lead the independent House, still with the support of their father Jean Roland-Billecart.
