Established in 1779, Bowmore Distillery is one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland and nestles on the shores of Loch Indaal on the Inner Hebridean Isle of Islay. Bowmore is universally regarded as the best balanced of all the Islay malts, as characterised by its wonderfully rich and complex flavours. L&S (Mar 2010)

Sultanas, ozone filled sea breeze and sea spray. Light smoky waft behind. Mouthfilling fruit with massive emergence of intense malt . Full across the palate with great texture and balance. Some sweet vanilla appears while a nutty note leads into the spectacular finish. Gorgeous. Rating: Silver Outstanding International Wine & Spirit Competition 2014
Bowmore Distillery
David Simson founded Bowmore Distillery in 1779 on the shores of Loch Indaal and it is the oldest distillery on the island of Islay, and one of the oldest in the whole of Scotland. The waters of the Riber Laggan, steeped in rich Islay peat, bring much of the character of the island to the mash and to the finished whisky. That same peat is used to fire the kiln that dry the Malt at Bowmore's own Maltings.
