Very dry blend of 80% Chardonnay and 20% Pinot Noir from Vertus (this is in fact an extra-brut), elegant and pure flavours, making for an interesting contrast to the Egly-Ouriet style. Breathtaking wine at this price.

Light yellow. Fresh pear and peach aromas are deepened by floral honey and gentle minerality. Plush, honeyed orchard fruit flavors are impressively fine-grained and silky. This boasts impressive depth, focus and persistence, showing a slow-building tangerine quality on the finish.   90/100

La Revue du Vin de France
This is the estate's "battle horse" (the French equivalent of the English "work horse"), made with 80% Chardonnay from the Côtes des Blancs and 20% Pinot Noir from Vertus. It is disgorged manually and dosed with only 5 grammes per litre of sugar - effectively making it an "Extra Brut" wine. The nose shows savoury aromas of brioche and ripe citrus fruits, with a hint of raspberry from the Pinot Noir. The Pinot also adds structure and roundness to the palate, on which pure flavours combine in a satisfying finish. An apéritif wine par excellence.
