Lea & Sandeman review
'Calle Ponche' is the name of one of Jerez's oldest streets, where Valdespino had one of their bodegas and the solera for this Palo Cortado Viejo was first created. The solera has been kept alive over the years by steadily refreshing the younger casks from a careful selection of barrels containing exceptional quality Inocente. Impossible to put an exact age of the wine, but estimated to be about twenty-five years and more, this solera is also used to refresh the oldest of all Palo Cortados, the majestic 'Cardenal'. A rare sherry and released in limited volumes, this is an intense, dry Palo Cortado with extraordinary length.
