TAITTINGER Brut
TAITTINGER Brut
| Grapes: Chardonnay Pinot Noir Pinot Meunier | Origin: France, Non Vintage |
Lea & Sandeman review
Vinified from the first pressings of selected Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier grapes. Matured on its lees for three years, the wine contains 40% Chardonnay, on average twice the percentage found in most standard cuvees. The Brut Reserve is dry, light and elegant with fine, pale gold bubbles, subtle body and citrus, peach and brioche notes on the nose.Other reviews and comments
This smells nutty with a touch of honey, as if there’s some older reserve wine added to the latest vintage; and it’s deliciously, seductively full-bodied and rich on the palate, full-flavoured too with a seductive creamy textured mousse, lots of melt-in-the-mouth yeasty complexity and undertones of honey and nuttiness. On this evidence, this classic blend of 40% Chardonnay and 30% each Pinot Noir and Meunier should be just right for the festive period. Oct 2009

A yeasty and lemon peel nose that possesses good freshness merges into crisp,
straightforward and nicely detailed flavors that are pleasantly fruity and just complex enough to avoid being one-dimensional. I
have never quite understood why, with such a distinguished range, that they can’t seem to do better with this cuvée.
