Bordeaux 2015 – Denis Durantou part II – Cruzelles and Montlandrie

‘Yet another ridiculously fine wine to load up on, courtesy of Denis Durantou.’

So said Neal Martin of 2015 CHÂTEAU LES CRUZELLES, Denis Durantou’s lead wine from his Lalande de Pomerol property. And this is another cracker and great value at £180 a dozen. 91-93 Neal Martin, 92-93 James Suckling.

Also out is Denis’ 2015 CHÂTEAU MONTLANDRIE, a property that Denis has always described as his second best terroir (after L’Église Clinet itself). This vineyard on a steep clay-limestone hill in Castillon has produced the best wine Denis has made here yet, with a lovely tonic dryness from the limestone which brilliantly sets off and lengthens the fine fruit. The Wine Doctor calls this ‘Magic stuff, really impressive, serious and set to be great value.’ 90-93 from both Neal Martin and Antonio Galloni.

Both highly recommended as ever.
