2015 Bordeaux – L’Évangile, Carruades & (soon) Château Lafite

by Charles Lea

This afternoon will apparently see the release of Château Lafite, the most regal of all the firsts.

Before that we have the release of Pomerol belonging to the Rothchilds of Lafite, 2015 CHÂTEAU L’ÉVANGILE, and Lafite’s second wine, darling of the Asian market, 2015 CARRUADES DE CHÂTEAU LAFITE. l’Évangile follows the releases of Vieux Château Certan (sold out) and Château l’Église Clinet (a limited amount remains), and is pitched in price between the two, a price that might seem reasonable given the extravagant notes from all the critics.

‘…a wonderful sense of symmetry and finishing with precision and class. This could well be the pick of the wines from the Domaines Barons Rothschild stable in 2015 and kudos to winemaker Jean-Pascal Vazart.’ 96 – 98 Neal Martin, www.erobertparker.com

‘What a wine here… Marvelous’ 99 – 100 James Suckling, ‘One of the highlights of the year, the 2015 L’Évangile is deep, powerful and intense, with remarkable concentration and plenty of power.’ 94-97 Antonio Galloni.

If you want first dibs on Lafite itself, email now, (it commits you to nothing).
