There is not too much happening in Bordeaux that will counter the gloominess of this morning’s weather here.\u00a0 There are, however,\u00a0two particular releases\u00a0we feel are worth noting.\u00a0 Firstly that of\u00a0BRANAIRE DUCRU<\/a>\u00a0(\u00a3275 per doz).\u00a0 Relative to the\u00a0vintage they have made a good wine this year – classic and attractive,\u00a0we were\u00a0impressed and so were most other tasters as you can see here<\/a>\u00a0and the price is fair without doubt, so a positive recommendation..? Whatever next? The second is DOMAINE DE CHEVALIER Rouge<\/a>\u00a0(\u00a3300 per doz)\u00a0this\u00a0is definitely amongst the successes of 2013 and at\u00a0this price seems a very fair proposition.<\/p>\n

CH\u00c2TEAU FIGEAC<\/a> too impressed during our week in Bordeaux and\u00a0it is one of the wines we have been waiting for, with somewhat bated breath,\u00a0to see how they would price it.\u00a0Sadly, as Charles said to me this morning – this seems a little ‘dotty’ at \u00a3530<\/strong> per dozen\u00a0– but the wine is good and attractive.<\/p>\n

The Whites this year have been\u00a0impressive and one of the most consistent performers is\u00a0DOMAINE DE CHEVALIER Blanc<\/span><\/a>\u00a0(\u00a3600 per doz).<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span> This year we were not personally\u00a0blown away by it, but it is important to note that among other critics this has fared very well – you can read all the reviews here<\/a>.<\/p>\n
