{"id":12623,"date":"2014-06-04T14:27:03","date_gmt":"2014-06-04T14:27:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.leaandsandeman.co.uk\/blog\/?p=12623"},"modified":"2014-06-05T08:49:31","modified_gmt":"2014-06-05T08:49:31","slug":"wine-course-west-london","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.leaandsandeman.co.uk\/blog\/2014\/06\/wine-course-west-london\/","title":{"rendered":"Wine Course in west London"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">We are often asked about wine tasting\u00a0courses, but we do not provide wine courses ourselves.<\/p>\n<p>We are happy to pass on\u00a0news of one that is happening quite close to all of our shops, run by <strong>Leith&#8217;s School of Food and Wine<\/strong> and with <strong>Richard Bampfield MW<\/strong> in the chair, and it&#8217;s a &#8216;proper&#8217; Wine &amp; Spirit Education Trust (WSET) course, so possibly quite hard work and finishes with an exam, but does get you WSET &#8216;Level 3&#8217; Award, at which point you will know considerably more than what colour red wine is.<\/p>\n<p>The venue is the Sloaney Pony (the White Horse pub at\u00a0Parson&#8217;s Green), and the <strong>course dates are 14th-18th July, 9:00 am to 5pm every day\u00a0with the exam taking place at Leith&#8217;s on the 21st. The cost of the course and the exam is \u00a3625.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blog-2207a.kxcdn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Leiths.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-12626\" alt=\"Leith's\" src=\"https:\/\/blog-2207a.kxcdn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Leiths.jpg\" width=\"481\" height=\"108\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\">WSET Level 3 Award in Wines &amp; Spirits<\/h1>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" title=\"Leiths drink class, bottles and glasses laid out on the table\" alt=\"Leiths drink class, bottles and glasses laid out on the table\" src=\"https:\/\/www.leiths.com\/wp-content\/gallery_resized\/image_medium\/15\/img_5974.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Wine and Spirit Education Trust Level 3 Award in Wines &amp; Spirits is for anyone wishing to gain in-depth knowledge of wines and spirits. It is open to students who hold the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines &amp; Spirits or can demonstrate the equivalent level of knowledge.<\/p>\n<p>Taught by Richard Bampfield, Masters of Wine, you will acquire a thorough understanding of the factors influencing the style, quality and price of wines from key wine producing regions of the world, and develop analytical tasting skills using the systematic approach to tasting.<\/p>\n<p>This qualification has full accreditation from the UK Government\u2019s Qualifications &amp; Curriculum Authority as a Level 3 Vocational Qualification.
