I can\u2019t think of a better expression of Tuscan wines than the best 2006 Brunello di Montalcinos.<\/em>&#8216; James Suckling<\/p>\n<p>Fans of great Sangiovese and great Bordeaux alike will appreciate the quality of these great Brunelli,\u00a0all the moreso\u00a0as they age in bottle over the next decade and more. Both Fuligni and Collemattoni are rated as among the top producers, making wines true to the style of traditional Brunello, with an eye to modernity, but without the excessive use of new oak which has momentarily led to a change in style and character of many of the wines in the region.<\/p>\n<p>These are wines that really require at least a\u00a0few years in bottle (while the 2005 vintage is perfect for drinking now) but with a few hours in a decanter can be enjoyed this year. Collemattoni&#8217;s wine is always a little more forward, because of their location and style of winemaking, while Fuligni&#8217;s requires more time because of the tighter and finer style. The Riservas will be released next year, but in the meantime, these are definitely a good buy for the cellar.<\/p>\n<p>This is a <strong>PRE-RELEASE OFFER<\/strong> which will end on March 15th 2011, and the wines will be delivered shortly therafter.<\/p>\n<p><strong>BRUNELLO di MONTALCINO 2006 Eredi Fuligni<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Sweet flowers, with blueberries and blackberries on the nose. Toffee and creme brulee. So complex and subtle with everything there. Full and very velvety with soft and silky tannins and a long, long finish. Beautiful polish to this wine.
